There are very few stores that you walk into and think “yes, I want my home to look and feel and smell just. like. this.” But, Anthropologie is an exception. Walking into Anthropologie does not induce the perfume headaches, fluorescent lighting dizziness, or aggressively loud techno music sensory assault that some other stores are notorious for. Instead, walking into Anthropologie is like walking out of a shopping mall and directly into the pages of a luxurious but accessible design catalogue. While it’s true that many of the items in the store reflect the elevated atmosphere - with “elevated” price tags - there are some easy ways that you can bring the atmosphere of the store to your own home without breaking the bank.

My personal favorite way to bring the magic of Anthro into my home is by occasionally splurging on a favorite scented candle like the ones constantly burning in their stores. One of the store’s most popular candles is its signature Capri Blue Volcano candle. It’s become such a staple of the store that they now sell it in a wide range of sizes and jar designs, including some limited edition seasonal versions. While I do think it’s worth the occasional splurge for the real thing, there are now a ton of great alternatives to the original - at a much friendlier price point!

Here are six affordable alternatives that smell just like Anthropologie’s Capri Blue Volcano candle.
