Summer Picnic Inspiration and Essentials

We're all having to get a little bit creative with how to make this summer feel like summer. While travel plans are likely being put on hold - there are still plenty of ways to get some sun and enjoy the fresh air while keeping a safe social distance. One of the easiest ways to take advantage of warmer temperatures and enjoy a change of scenery is to pack up a bag and head to the nearest open space - whether it's a local park, beach, or even just your own backyard.

A good rule of thumb when packing for your picnic is to bring something to sit on, something to snack on, and something to do. These chairs are cute and comfy - although a blanket or table cloth (like this one) works just as well and may be more practical to transport if you're walking to your picnic destination. This picnic basket is not only cute, but very convenient - it comes with a bottle opener, cutting board, and a knife. Especially in places like SF, where the whether can be unpredictable, it's always a good idea to opt for durable glassware - like these cute acrylic cups.

And as for what to do: you can read a book, listen to tunes (this is a cute and easily transportable speaker), play a card game (this deck of cards is just plain pretty), or just relax and sip on some wine while soaking up the sun (don't forget SPF!)

In case you still need ideas for creating your own local summer oasis, we've rounded up some beautiful summer picnic scenes to inspire you to get outside and make the most of these summer months that are already flying by.
